BOARD AWARD FUND FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Statement of Policy

The Peel District School Board approves the establishment of scholarship awards for its secondary schools.  These awards are to be administered in accordance with the regulations.

 

Administrative Regulations

1.       This policy shall apply to all secondary schools under the jurisdiction of the Board.

2.       The awards shall be known as the Peel District School Board Scholarship or Proficiency Award.

3.       Each school shall be allowed to establish annually a fund for the granting of scholarships and proficiency awards to its students from the individual school Instructional Supply Budget allocation.

4.       The scale and number of awards shall be determined by the principal and the scholarship committee of the school except that no award shall exceed $200.00 in value.

5.       In determining the number of awards the principal and the scholarship committee of the school shall give due consideration to various courses and programs offered by the school.
